THE LABORATORY

The Robotics Laboratory was founded in November 1990 at the department of Production Engineering and Management of Technical University of Crete. In November 2002 the Robotics Laboratory was renamed to Intelligent Systems and Robotics Laboratory (IS&RL). Founder and first director was Professor Kimon P. Valavanis. IS&RL serves the teaching and research demands of the Production Systems section, participates in Greek and international research projects and exchanges know-how between industries and educational institutions in Greece and abroad. |
Objectives The objectives of the laboratory are:
The main objective of the laboratory is the participation
in the design of future intelligent systems, with emphasis in systems, which
are capable of operating in particularly hostile and unstable environments,
without human guidance and interaction.
